Frequently Asked Questions

hronic inflammation, detox, or post-surgical recovery

What should I expect during a session?

You’ll lie comfortably while a trained practitioner uses a hand-held ELD device to trace lymphatic pathways on your body. The treatment is completely painless—many clients find it relaxing and even fall asleep. After the session, you may feel lighter, more energized, or notice increased urination as your body begins detoxifying.

How many sessions do I need?

Everyone’s body is different. While some clients feel a difference after just one session, we typically recommend a series of 3–6 treatments close together for best results—especially if you're working on chronic inflammation, detox, or post-surgical recovery. Maintenance sessions once or twice a month are ideal for long-term wellness.

Can anyone get an ALT session?

For the most part, yes, but there are a few restrictions. Always consult with your healthcare provider if you have concerns or specific medical conditions.

  • Infections:
Assisted-lymphatic therapy involves direct skin contact, and if there are any open wounds or infections, the therapy could potentially spread the infection.

  • Circulatory Problems:
Individuals with a history of blood clots, deep vein thrombosis, or other circulatory issues should be cautious, as the therapy could dislodge a clot.

  • Heart Conditions:
Lymphatic drainage can increase fluid circulation, which may be problematic for individuals with heart conditions.

  • Kidney or Liver Issues:
Compromised kidney or liver function could make it difficult for the body to process the increased fluid and byproducts of the therapy.

  • Pacemakers:
Individuals with pacemakers should avoid electro-lymphatic therapy.

  • Pregnancy:
While gentle lymphatic massage can be safe, it's crucial to inform the therapist and ensure they are experienced with prenatal massage.

How do I prepare for my appointment?

It’s best to come well-hydrated and avoid heavy meals or alcohol beforehand. Come make up, lotion, and  deodorant free. Wear comfortable clothing and plan to take it easy after your session to allow your body to process the detoxification.

Can I combine ALT with other treatments?

Absolutely. ALT works well alongside other holistic therapies like massage, chiropractic care, cupping, gua sha and infrared sauna. It’s also a great complement to post-operative recovery plans and beauty regimens like body contouring or skin rejuvenation.
